CEO & Co-Founder of LHGFX Media, Ian Jenkinson formed LHGFX Events bringing 25 years of unique experience successfully shaping and executing projects in an area where the worlds of music, magazines and the leading youth brands meet. This cathartic journey has enabled him to develop a reputation as one of the world’s foremost consultants on youth culture, music strategy as one of the world’s leading music manager’s. The distinctive path he has taken was established after a phenomenally successful decade in executive positions and running his own companies in the music, clubs, festivals, events, brands and publishing industries.
As managing director of Desperado Entertainment, Ian's successful Consultancy, Entertainment Artist Management, Live Events and Strategy company, his clients have included ESG Global, Universal Music Group, Vivendi, JA Film, JSM Corp (India), Torch Events (France and Montenegro), Virgin Media, The Culture Group and F1 Rocks.
In 2014 Ian helped launched SEE Tickets US for Vivendi. Launching the platform successfully in the US and advised Universal Music Latin Entertainment launch there first US based music Festival ‘L Festival’ a Latin music festival in Orange County with ticket sales over 20,000.
Ian ran Outlawz, a highly successful Management, Entertainment and Consultancy Company for over 10 years, whose roster included We Are Scientists, Saosin, The Chapman Family, DJ Nihal (BBC Radio 1) and Frontiers. His services and expertise where requested internationally. He worked with many of the largest companies in Europe and North America. One of his biggest clients was IPC Media, which is part of Time Warner, Europe’s largest magazine publisher with over 164 magazine titles; he consulted as Special Projects Director for over 8 years. He performed all the tasks he did in his previous role as Director of Music Projects for IPC Media where he initiated and developed international projects and partnerships for IPC/Time Warner. This included Ian driving the US launches of NME.com and Club NME in 2006. Ian’s other recent projects included the legendary NME Awards and Awards tour and NME Awards Big Gig at the o2 Arena in London with numerous sellouts of over 10,000 people he has been organizing live performances and tours throughout the UK and the US. He had also worked in an advisory and project management capacity with major UK youth and blue chip brands in the music market including Lastminute.com, IPC Media, Mint Group, Nokia, Orange, Proctor and Gamble, Coca-Cola, Samsung, Vodafone, Universal Music, Bauer, KoKo live venue and O2 to name a few.
Three years before establishing Outlawz, Ian was headhunted by the huge multi-national and largest publishing company in Europe, Time Warner from EMAP the second largest publishing giant in Europe to be their Director of Music Projects. As Director of Music Projects at IPC Ignite, Ian sat on the board of directors and helped turn round ailing titles to glory, readership, and profit. He turned around the NME magazine, one of the largest titles in their portfolio and helped IPC launch Nuts, the largest magazine title of the last 10 years in the UK. He also produced their fashion and music shows for TV. Ian helped to bring more popularity to many televised award shows such as the Q Awards and NME Awards. He also organized live music events at most of the major rock festivals in the UK including the world famous Glastonbury Festival, Reading and Leeds and V Festival. Ian has toured and event managed some of the biggest bands in the world including Oasis, The Sex Pistols, Coldplay, Eminem and one fastest selling recording artistes of all time The Arctic Monkeys. His work has also involved producing events for fashion designer labels including D & G. and Red or Dead.

When Ian was the Publishing Director of EMAP’s title Mixmag magazine, he won various awards for his contribution to these groundbreaking titles. He steered them to greater sales and profits during his period as publisher. By relaunching Mixmag and redeveloping it’s business model and brand, Ian increased the advertising revenue and circulation from 53,000 to 105,000 to make it the fastest growing music magazine in Europe. He also secured the telecommunications conglomerate Orange and major beverage company Smirnoff as long- term partners for the brand. Other tasks included Ian advising on all the awards, fashion and events for TV in his period with EMAP. Ian developed the Q Awards, making it the most successful in the events history. He organized a week of live activity in the run-up to the televised awards ceremony, featuring well-known acts including David Gray, Kelis, Badly Drawn Boy, The Doves, and Orbital.
From 1992 to 1999, Ian and his partner, Paul Shurey, established the award-winning and legendary company Universe, a groundbreaking entertainment company that created and launched the landmark Tribal Gathering and Big Love festivals Ian and Paul where created with the development of the modern outdoor dance festivals. Ian created, staged, produced, promoted and booked Tribal Gathering, the biggest outdoor dance event in the world bringing dance artists to a new festival audience and breaking them into the mainstream. Ian held the huge sell-out festivals, which were each up to 80,000 capacities, all over Europe over a span of five years. The festivals gave a platform to hundreds of live acts and DJ’s to performances and was the launch pad for many successful music artistes. Ian also helped create Mount Universe which was the first all-night dance event to be held at the enormous historic London venue Alexandra Palace this resurrected the famed Universe and Europe's biggest dance club Final Frontier in the UK and Germany
Ian had great success in the nightclub business. In 1993 he formed a business partnership with Paul Shurey and launched Final Frontier at Club U.K. in London which went on to become one of the most successful and groundbreaking clubs in the world with 2000 people attending every week gaining world-wide recognition.
Ian won various awards for Final Frontier, Tribal Gathering, Big Love and Mount Universe and introduced new live acts and DJs to the British music scene. He launched the famous Complex nightclub in London too, which was phenomenally successful. Another exciting challenge Ian had was an assignment given to him by one of the UK’s major banks. He was hired to run and revive a once popular London nightclub, The Limelight, which had belonged to another nightclub owner but had the misfortune of being repossessed by the bank. Ian managed to rapidly turn the club around and he also introduced the capital to, then unknown but now the biggest DJ in the world, Paul Oakenfold who played at the club. Ian rebuilt the The Limelight’s revenue and reputation leaving it in excellent condition for the receivers to sell. They sold the club in under a year.
Ian’s epic career started when the editor of groundbreaking magazine of fashion and culture The Face immediately identified his talent. The editor plucked him out, straight after his BA Honors degree course in Photography at Nottingham University, to be a fashion photographer for The Face. Ian also shot for leading fashion bibles Vogue and W Magazine. Soon after those heady fashion experiences, Ian had the style and ingenuity to make a dramatic turn; and secure work in the highly competitive political news arena as a war photographer for national and international newspapers including UK broadsheets The Times and The Guardian. This flawless ability to tap into exclusive and diverse markets has been Ian’s signature ever since.
